Antonio's 5th Birthday Extravaganza! Part 10

Cruise Day 3 Part 2

While Q and Antonio swam, I got ready for formal night. This worked out perfectly! We took a few pics on the balcony after we were all ready.

IMG_4764.jpg
IMG_4772.jpg
IMG_4775.jpg

We got some professional portraits done as well. I cut way back on this cruise and only bought 10 pictures. I wish they would get the CD program like Disney Cruise Line. The pictures are so expensive!!

Quentin took Antonio to Camp Carnival so we could have an adult’s only dinner tonight. I waited at the bar and listened to the music in the lounge. I wanted to dance, but by the time Quentin got back the singers were taking a break. I was so disappointed! I did enjoy watching the older couples dance.

IMG_4781.jpg
IMG_4784.jpg

The ceiling changes colors.

IMG_4785.jpg

We both had the lobster for dinner tonight.

IMG_4787.jpg

We also split an order of prime rib.

IMG_4788.jpg

We were being pretty silly at dinner.

IMG_4792.jpg

Quentin had crème brulee and some type of cake.

IMG_4800.jpg
IMG_4801.jpg
IMG_4802.jpg

After dinner we picked up Antonio and went to listen to the singers. Antonio took this picture of us.

IMG_4804.jpg

Antonio and I danced to a few songs.

IMG_4816.jpg
IMG_4817.jpg
IMG_4818.jpg
IMG_4823.jpg

Then we had to go visit his girlfriend at the candy store. Every day we would go to the candy store if he was a good boy at dinner/Camp Carnival. He loved her!

IMG_4851.jpg

We considered going to the show, but decided to go to bed. Maybe Quentin went to the show? I don’t remember!

IMG_4852.jpg

Antonio loved our towel animal tonight!

Antonio's 5th Birthday Extravaganza! Part 9

Cruise Day 3

Today was our first sea day. I woke up bright and early and headed out to see the beautiful ocean. I loved having an aft balcony.

IMG_4683.jpg

Antonio woke up soon after and joined me in admiring the view while Quentin ran up to Lido to get our breakfast.

IMG_4687.jpg
IMG_4689.jpg

Spoiled kid playing iPad while cruising in the Caribbean.

IMG_4702.jpg

Mama chilling.

IMG_4703.jpg

Breakfast time!

IMG_4704.jpg
IMG_4705.jpg

After breakfast Antonio was dying to play checkers. On the Carnival Sunshine there was an oversized chess board, but it also had checkers. Unfortunately, the Glory only had chess. We played it for a bit.

IMG_4707.jpg

Lido was pretty dead at this point.

IMG_4708.jpg
IMG_4709.jpg
IMG_4710.jpg
IMG_4711.jpg
IMG_4712.jpg
IMG_4713.jpg
IMG_4714.jpg

After Antonio got bored with chess we went up to play mini golf. I thought the course wasn’t as cute as the Sunshine’s, but Antonio enjoyed it and that’s all that really matters.

IMG_4715.jpg
IMG_4716.jpg
IMG_4717.jpg
IMG_4718.jpg

Since we were up so early, we got a really good spot by the main pool. We played Sorry Revenge for awhile on some deck chairs. Then I saw the morning show was coming on the big screen. My mom had called in once on a cruise and won, so I moved out so I could see the screen and took my Camp Carnival phone with me.

See the guy in the plaid suit? They were showing him on the show and he didn’t realize. Then they had him do a cannonball.

IMG_4719.jpg
IMG_4720.jpg
IMG_4721.jpg

Then it was my chance! They asked for someone to call in to win a spa gift certificate. I called in and Dr. E remembered me from the Hasbro Game Show last night. He told me I had to go up a level on Lido and get these ladies to do a kick line with me. I went up there and the ladies didn’t speak English! I told Dr. E they were Russian which was the only thing they would say. This other guy got up and did a kickline with me, but he wouldn’t accept that. Finally, I got the ladies up to do the kickline! Quentin got it on video, but you can’t see much.

Here I am happy that I won!

IMG_4722.jpg

I went to the cruise talk show to get my prize and it was a $100 gift certificate towards a certain treatment. I was so sad! I thought I was going to get a massage. Oh well, it was cool to win even though I didn’t use the certificate.

We spent the day swimming and lounging by the pool. At some point we ate lunch. I love the salad bar. Can you see my Fun times all highlighted behind my plate?

IMG_4723.jpg

Antonio had his usual meat and cheese.

IMG_4724.jpg

We went to the room to change and ordered milk, cookies, and a fruit bowl from room service.

IMG_4725.jpg
IMG_4726.jpg
IMG_4728.jpg

Then it was time for the photo scavenger hunt put on my Camp Carnival. The three of us headed over to the meeting area and got our list. We had a blast running around taking pictures of things.

IMG_4744.jpg
IMG_4746.jpg
IMG_4748.jpg

We got back in time and we won!!! We found every item on the list!!! Our very first “solid gold” Ship on a Stick! We also got medals and a deck of cards.

IMG_4750.jpg
IMG_4752.jpg
IMG_4753.jpg
IMG_4754.jpg

Quentin and Antonio changed back in to swimsuits and headed back down to the pool for a bit so I could start getting ready because tonight was formal night.

IMG_4759.jpg

Antonio had a blast on the slide! The bad thing is the deck is crazy crazy hot on the way up to the slide, so you really need water shoes or flip flops.

IMG_4760.jpg
IMG_4761.jpg

It’s definitely not the fastest moving slide. Click the picture to view the video.

Antonio's 5th Birthday Extravaganza! Part 8

Cruise Day 2 Part 2

While the little one slept, Q and I got ready for dinner.

IMG_4636.jpg
IMG_4643.jpg

Tonight was the Hasbro Game Show and I wanted to make sure we had good seats! I love this show! I was picked to participate on our Spring Break cruise a few months earlier. Our cruise peeps were going to join us tonight as well. While I got Antonio ready, Q went down and saved seats.

IMG_4646.jpg

Buddies!

IMG_4647.jpg

In this show, they pick four people for each team using different mini games. The cruise director comes out in to the audience and if you show that you are excited, you can get picked. If you get the answer to the mini game correct, you get to go on stage for the main show. Guess who was picked again!

IMG_4652.jpg

I got to play Sorry Sliders. You had to slide the Sorry piece out on to the board to try to get the most points.

IMG_4654.jpg
IMG_4656.jpg
IMG_4658.jpg
IMG_4660.jpg

Unfortunately, my team lost! We still got a consolation prize, the card game Sorry Revenge. We put it to good use. Antonio wanted to play it constantly!!!

IMG_4669.jpg

I had told our cruise peeps to try to switch to My Time Dining, but they weren’t able to. I was a little confused and thought they had, so we all went to dinner together. The Maitre’D was not too pleased with us, but said we could all sit together tonight, but tomorrow they had to go back to assigned dining. Another reason My Time rocks! In case you meet cruise peeps, you can eat together!
The boys spent the meal playing Nintendo DS and iPad.

IMG_4671.jpg

After dinner we took the boys to Camp Carnival Night Owls and the adults went to the comedy show.

IMG_4679.jpg
IMG_4680.jpg

After the comedy show we went to get the kiddos and they were asleep. Back to the room to our cute frog towel animal!

Antonio's 5th Birthday Extravaganza! Part 7

Nassau

semi-overcast

I forgot to post our Embarkation photo from the first day!

10.jpg

Today would be our first port day! We were pulling to Nassau when I woke up. I went out to the balcony to see the view as we pulled in. Unfortunately, my pictures aren’t great because my camera would fog up because of the temperature change when I would go outside.

IMG_4427.jpg IMG_4429.jpg

Backing in to our spot!

IMG_4436.jpg

Pulling in next to the Ecstasy.

IMG_4439.jpg

Somebody woke up.

IMG_4443.jpg

View from the balcony to the room in case anyone is interested in that.

IMG_4447.jpg

Every day either Quentin or I would go get breakfast for everyone and eat on the balcony. Omelettes everyday is another reason I love cruising! We took our time getting ready and headed out after the rush of people were already off the ship.

I’m a sucker for crazy expensive cruise ship photos. I wish they had a CD option like Disney Cruise Line!

8.jpg

Speaking of Disney Cruise Line!

IMG_4449.jpg

I pretended I was getting off the Disney Dream!

Ready for a fun day!

IMG_4450.jpg

Can you see how loaded down we would get that stroller! We brought a cooler with waters, a beach umbrella, sand toys, snorkel, life jacket, etc. We learned last cruise what we wished we would have had and fixed the mistakes!

IMG_4451.jpg

See you later Glory!

IMG_4452.jpg
IMG_4453.jpg

I remembered the decorations in the port area from being here with my mom and Antonio our Disney cruise in 2011.

IMG_4454.jpg

Pigeons!

IMG_4455.jpg

No sure what loafing is!

IMG_4456.jpg

The Straw Market wasn’t completely open when we got there, so we just looked around the perimeter a bit. I spotted this Mickey straw hat and had to get it for Antonio! She sewed his name on to it.

IMG_4457.jpg
IMG_4459.jpg
IMG_4460.jpg
IMG_4461.jpg

I had mentioned the Pirate Museum to Quentin before the trip and he really wanted to go there, so off we went!

IMG_4463.jpg
IMG_4465.jpg

The museum was a neat collection of artifacts with lots of signs that you could read to learn more. It would be better with a kid who is a bit older and really in to pirate stuff. Antonio didn’t want to wait around for us to read the signs, so we didn’t get to see everything.

IMG_4467.jpg
IMG_4469.jpg
IMG_4470.jpg

There were true and false questions throughout that were kind of fun.

IMG_4472.jpg
IMG_4473.jpg

I wouldn’t want to have a pirate surgery.

IMG_4481.jpg
IMG_4484.jpg

This was the elevator.

IMG_4485.jpg
IMG_4486.jpg

It didn’t work. We had to carry the stroller up the stairs. Good thing we didn’t have somebody in a wheelchair.

Having fun!

IMG_4488.jpg

There were parts of the museum that were pitch black and you couldn’t see where you were going. It was very strange. If you were going with an elderly person I would be concerned about that.

Antonio and I got a little ahead of Quentin and went outside. The door locked behind us and we couldn’t get back in! Luckily there was some stuff out there to entertain us while we waited.

IMG_4506.jpg
IMG_4507.jpg
IMG_4509.jpg
IMG_4510.jpg
IMG_4512.jpg
IMG_4513.jpg

Finally, Quentin came out! He took forever! Apparently he was actually reading the signs. What a novel idea!

IMG_4523.jpg
IMG_4527.jpg

As we left the museum, it started to rain. We made it to a Dunkin Donuts right before a downpour started! We lucked out that the Dunkin Donuts had free wifi! The bad thing was, Quentin’s phone wouldn’t work with the wifi, he had this problem the whole trip. My phone worked and I was able to check facebook a little bit and text Antonio’s dad. We hung out here and used wifi throughout the whole rainstorm. Suprisingly, the prices were about the same as a Dunkin Donuts in the USA.

IMG_4530.jpg

Being silly!

IMG_4531.jpg
IMG_4533.jpg
When it finally stopped raining, we went to find a beach. We didn’t have an exact plan. Just to walk towards Junkanoo Beach. We saw some signs and headed that way. I know now why they call in Junkanoo. It was pretty Junky. There was a row of trash and stuff at the back of the beach, but if you went close to the water, it was nice. We were right by Fat Tuesdays. You can see we aren’t far from the ships at all.

P5310556.jpg

It was pretty cloudy and not very hot, so we didn’t do much swimming at first. Antonio wanted to go in the water, but didn’t stay in long because it was too cold. We had several locals come by and try to sell us an all day pass to a place on down the beach where we could use water toys, but we told them the weather wasn’t really conducive to playing in the water.

P5310548.jpg
P5310550.jpg

We spent some time building sand castles instead! I was really glad I had brought sand toys. We had a great time playing with them.

P5310553.jpg
P5310567.jpg
P5310576.jpg

Turns out I couldn’t think of how to make a 5 out of shells and rocks! It was backwards at first!

IMG_4534.jpg

Fixed it!

IMG_4540.jpg

See our turtle!

IMG_4544.jpg
P5310588.jpg

Our castle.

IMG_4546.jpg

Antonio finally talked me in to playing in the water.

IMG_4547.jpg
IMG_4549.jpg
IMG_4552.jpg
P5310591.jpg
P5310594.jpg
P5310596.jpg
Shark!

P5310598.jpg

Time to dry off!

P5310602.jpg

We loved our beach umbrella that I won from Deanna Polly-Faulkner, my Shelter Insurance Agent!

IMG_4561.jpg

Overall, we had a great day in Nassau! Are there nicer beaches there? Yes of course. Are those beaches free and within walking distance? No!

We started to get hungry after a while and headed back to the ship. On the way I saw Conch Fritters which I read about several times on Cruise Critic before our trip.

IMG_4562.jpg

And the Baskin Robbins/Dunkin Donuts where we hung out during the storm.

IMG_4564.jpg

We were pretty sandy so we stopped off at this fountain to clean our shoes. Antonio can’t stand being sandy! These were pop jet fountains and when I was trying to clean off Antonio’s sandals a jet squirted me and soaked me!

IMG_4565.jpg

We also took a detour at Senor Frogs to take a few pictures.

IMG_4570.jpg
IMG_4572.jpg

A couple other ships had joined us in port.

IMG_4573.jpg

Back to the ship.

IMG_4574.jpg
IMG_4575.jpg
IMG_4577.jpg

We got the sleepy boy through security and went up to our room to hang out on the balcony and eat lunch. We had a great view.

IMG_4582.jpg
IMG_4583.jpg

One of the Royal Caribbean ships was blowing it’s horn to leave and we got to witness “the running of the late people!”

IMG_4585.jpg
IMG_4586.jpg

I wish I could afford to stay at Atlantis someday!

IMG_4592.jpg
IMG_4593.jpg

A little room service for lunch.

IMG_4596.jpg

Time for us to push off.

IMG_4599.jpg
IMG_4600.jpg
IMG_4602.jpg

Now I know Carnival ships aren’t as beautiful as Disney ships. But at least they aren’t as ugly as Royal Caribbean ships!

IMG_4601.jpg
IMG_4603.jpg
IMG_4604.jpg
IMG_4605.jpg

Antonio loved the birds that were circling us as we left.

IMG_4610.jpg

Bye bye Nassau!

IMG_4612.jpg
IMG_4614.jpg

This is the beach we were at!

IMG_4613.jpg

The aft balcony had so much space, we could even keep the stroller out there to let it dry off from being at the beach.

IMG_4616.jpg

Bad thing about the aft…no shade. That’s where the umbrella came in handy!

IMG_4620.jpg

This boy passed out as soon as we ate the room service food.

Antonio's 5th Birthday Extravaganza! Part 6

Cruise Day 1 Part 2

Antonio laid around for a little bit while we waited for the lifeboat drill to start.

IMG_4269.jpg

Then we headed down to our spot. Last cruise we got to sit in the theatre. No luck this time. We were outside and it sucked! It started out not too bad.

IMG_4270.jpg
IMG_4271.jpg

They came by and gave Antonio is muster station band.

IMG_4272.jpg

Then he sat down because it was taking forever.

IMG_4273.jpg

The workers were not okay with him sitting though. I had to keep making him stand up. Then they offered for me to take him inside a lounge. Poor Q! I left him out there and Antonio and I went in to sit down. Antonio fell asleep on my lap while we waited for the drill to end.

IMG_4275.jpg

It certainly came in handy later in the week knowing where these elephant tusks were! It was on a scavenger hunt!

IMG_4276.jpg
IMG_4277.jpg

After the drill ended we went back up to the room. Antonio and I went to the kids club orientation. I’m not sure what Quentin did while we were gone. The orientation was quick and easy. Parents of kids that are 5 and under are able to get a cell phone that works on the ship. This came in so handy on the last cruise, I was glad to be able to get one again.

IMG_4284.jpg

After the orientation, we headed back up to hang out on the balcony and get ready for dinner. We wanted to watch the sailaway from our balcony too!
Grandpa’s binoculars came in very handy!

IMG_4285.jpg

We love our balcony!

IMG_4286.jpg
IMG_4288.jpg

Antonio was hungry, so I ordered him room service to eat while we got ready for dinner. Room service is free on cruises! Another reason cruising rocks! He had grilled cheese, fruit, cookies, and milk.

IMG_4289.jpg
IMG_4292.jpg

The water doesn’t look that pretty yet. You can see here how easily you can see the other balconies. Aft balconies are awesome except for privacy.

IMG_4294.jpg

Bye bye Miami!

IMG_4296.jpg
IMG_4299.jpg
IMG_4300.jpg

Police boat leading us out of the bay.

IMG_4301.jpg

Lots of sailboats.

IMG_4302.jpg
IMG_4324.jpg

I wondered what it would be like to be on this tiny boat right behind a huge cruise ship!

IMG_4304.jpg

Watching us sail away!

IMG_4305.jpg
IMG_4313.jpg

These cars were headed out to an island. We still had service so Q looked it up and it’s some type of rich island for rich people!

IMG_4314.jpg

Here’s the richy rich island.

IMG_4322.jpg

Checking it all out!

IMG_4316.jpg

Getting farther away!

IMG_4318.jpg

Dredging the canal.

IMG_4327.jpg

Miami Beach!

IMG_4329.jpg
IMG_4333.jpg

See you in a week Miami!

The water is getting prettier!

AB6166B4-3084-4CBD-8368-4CABF62684D0.jpg

Ready to go to dinner! Check out that gorgeous water!

We had a table by a window our first night. We were on My Time Dining. This means you can go to dinner anytime from 5:30-9:30. We prefer this because we are never sure when we will be hungry.

IMG_4358.jpg

The bread may be my favorite part of dinner.

IMG_4359.jpg

Quentin bought us a wine package. It came with tickets to get bottles of wine.

IMG_4371.jpg
IMG_4372.jpg

We had grand plans of Antonio eating with Camp Carnival most nights so we could enjoy an adult dinner. That didn’t happen. Luckily his Nintendo DS kept him entertained.

IMG_4375.jpg

Cheers!

IMG_4378.jpg

Chicken nuggets was Antonio’s daily meal. Way to branch out son!

IMG_4378.jpg

He would get fruit for his appetizer. They serve the kids food all at once which is nice.

IMG_4381.jpg
Quentin had onion soup for his appetizer.

IMG_4381.jpg

I had the Port of Call selection. On the new American Table Menu on certain Carnival ships there are different foods based on which port you are in. Today I had ham croquetas and empanadas with black bean salsa.

IMG_4383.jpg

I always have to have the ceasar too. I love Carnival’s ceasar salad.

IMG_4384.jpg

My main course was also the Port of Call selection. Grilled Mahi Mahi with coconut rice and fresh pineapple and red pepper salsa.

IMG_4386.jpg

Quentin had BBQ Braised Beef Brisket.

IMG_4387.jpg

We shared a side of bacon mac n cheese and veggies.

IMG_4388.jpg

For dessert Quentin had nutella tiramisu and warm date and fig pudding. I don’t like most of the desserts on Carnival ships so I had nothing.

IMG_4392.jpg IMG_4394.jpg

Antonio had a banana split.

IMG_4393.jpg

After dinner, I took Antonio up to Camp Carnival to check it out and it happened to be Beary Cuddly time. This is where you can make a Carnival brand Build a Bear. He chose to make a duck and named it Fluffy Duck.

IMG_4396.jpg
IMG_4397.jpg
IMG_4413.jpg

This Camp Carnival area was much nicer than Carnival Sunshine. It was much bigger. Still no Disney ship, but it was nice.

IMG_4403.jpg
IMG_4404.jpg
IMG_4405.jpg
IMG_4406.jpg
IMG_4407.jpg
IMG_4408.jpg
IMG_4409.jpg
IMG_4410.jpg
IMG_4411.jpg
IMG_4412.jpg

After Beary Cuddly it was time for Camp Carnival Night Owls. This is a program that starts at 10 and ends either at 1 am or 3 am depending on the ship. It costs extra. I left Antonio much to his disappointment. He has fun while at Camp Carnival, but getting him to go is awful.

While Antonio was at Camp, I went to the Welcome Aboard show with Quentin. I loved our cruise director, Dr. E! He was hilarious! The show was great!!! The guy and kid he picked were such characters! There was an older man behind me just cracking up laughing. It really was that funny though!

IMG_4414.jpg
IMG_4415.jpg

After the show we went to the bar. I stopped for a picture on this neat chair.

IMG_4419.jpg
IMG_4423.jpg

Then we went to the comedy show.

IMG_4424.jpg

After the comedy show, we picked up Antonio and went back to the room. Antonio was excited to see the “towel baby!”

IMG_4425.jpg

I love reading the fun times each night. We were hardcore this trip. We even brought a highlighter to highlight activities we wanted to do.

IMG_4426.jpg

Antonio passed right out!
